Play Group 
Our playschool program uses hands-on exploration and social interaction in safe and engaging surroundings to help your child learn about his or her expanding world. Under the guidance of our trained teachers, toddlers enjoy learning experiences that promote their blossoming independence and social skills, and foster self-confidence.
At FIRSTSTEP, we believe playing time is learning time. This program is designed to adapt the curriculum to each individual child’s age and stage. Best Montessori schools teachers in the toddler classroom promote emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development in a fun, engaging environment by targeting the changing needs of children. They also present age-appropriate learning opportunities to encourage individual skills and independent choices. This helps to nurture each individual child to build upon his or her strengths and encourages exploration of their world using paint, water, board books, and more.
Our centre establish a relaxed environment to foster self-confidence and self-help skills, offering opportunities for success that prepares toddlers for preschool.
Pre School
At this age, children are eager to investigate the workings of their expanding world and experiment with their emerging sense of mastering skills. It is a time of enormous strides, when communication and conceptual thinking and the development of self and social skills flourish.
Our curriculum helps young learners grow into confident students. Our nurturing teachers focus on each individual child’s personal achievement of educational and developmental milestones. The program prepares children for kindergarten and beyond, with the skills and confidence needed for a lifetime of academic success.
This program is one that inspires children to reach their full potential. Our teachers inspire curiosity and creative thinking, guiding pre-schoolers by targeting developmental and academic milestones in the areas of language and literacy, mathematical reasoning, and scientific investigation. The curriculum provides a mix of independent, teacher-directed, and small group learning experiences and activities, creating multi-disciplinary learning centres that encourage individual skills and emerging interests in the areas of creative expression, language, math, manipulative art, dramatic play, and outdoor learning.
Kindergarten
FirstStep kindergarten programs recognize that children will soon be entering schools that have a range of expectations for a child’s social and academic performance. We provide a comprehensive learning-centred approach that challenges children and supports every area of development. We recognize the need for directed, sequential instruction to ensure that children enter first grade with the skills and knowledge expected of them in the school that they will attend.
The kindergarten curriculum is adapted to expectations of local CBSE and ICSE schools. The kindergarten learning centres develops expectations and practices in concert with the local schools that the children will be attending.
At the same time, the curriculum in every kindergarten home base builds off the child’s knowledge base and skills, learning style, and interests. There is a clear emphasis on the development of strong language, math, and science skills. Important “school skills” of listening carefully, following through on a sequence of tasks, and working cooperatively are reinforced.
FirstStep’s kindergarten program extends from a planned learning environment and incorporates language, math, science, general knowledge and awareness about our world, and creative thinking, offering each child a kindergarten program for learning designed for future academic success.
Day Care
Our Day Care program is open to both children who attend FirstStep programs in the morning and those coming from other schools. Children can explore all our learning centres and our outdoor facilities every day. Nap time, lunch, snacks, and drop and pick up times are based on individual needs. We also offer hot lunches and fresh snacks cooked in clean and hygienic surroundings as an option for parents at additional cost. The weekly menu is planned to cater to the nutritional needs of growing children.
Kids Academy
Look no further for your child’s creative needs. FirstStep Kids Academy (FSKA) is a one-of-a-kind, year-round afterschool program for your child, thoughtfully put together to stimulate development of the whole brain. It a structured 5-day/week, year-long program covering all aspects of development. FSKAhones language, math, science, and art skills. The curriculum at FSKAalso exposes children to fun-filled extra-curricular activities like dance, storytelling and dramatics, music, chess, art and craft, pottery and yoga – all under one roof. The two-hour program is divided into two segments – Skills and Activity. Skills include a math, language and science labs, art techniques, and life skills. Activities include music, dance, yoga, storytelling and dramatics.
Summer Program
Through discovery and exploration, your child will experience the summer of a lifetime at our signature FristStep summer camps.
Our teachers plan creative activities for all age groups. We work collaboratively to develop a curriculum that focuses on and takes advantage of all that the summer offers. We use our playgrounds and the surrounding community as an extension of our centre, helping children to discover science and explore nature, creative art, music and dance, while learning about the vast opportunities in the world around them.
The curriculum for summer programs ensures that the children have fun and develop a sense of awareness of the world around them. It includes a focus on issues that affect the earth and our environment, offering our teachers numerous opportunities to adapt the curriculum for any age group.
Guest visits from police and fire officers, magicians, musicians, and puppeteers add to our program. One of the integral parts of our summer program is the opportunity parents have to participate in their child’s summer experience. From getting involved in home projects to enjoying the finale events, we value and encourage our parent-teacher partnerships.
